Laser measurement systems of SICK - active tentative, application specific customized.

In the internal transport logistics and in harbours laser measurement systems are important pillars of modern automation concepts.

Whether it is for automated guided vehicles (AGV) or industrial- and service robots our SICK-Sensors perform tasks for navigation, object recognition for automated palletising and de-palletising in a tough, reliable, low maintenance and economic way.

SICK has constantly enlarged our portfolio and now we offer a huge variety of products to meet the ever increasing demands of applications in recognition of shapes, positioning and distance measuring.

Very communication friendly LD and LMS 400 series with Ethernet interfaces are now available for you complementing their specific features, such as 360°- field of view, high resolution, fast scan frequency as well as the possibility of the application programming within the sensor (DSP).

Application Solutions

Object Detection

Industrial Robots are normally used in controlled surroundings. The applications mainly are in the field of detection of positions of objects (e.g. parcels) and the positioning of effectors (e.g. picker arms).

Free Navigation

Automatic guided vehicles are part of the service robotic world. Free navigation is realised with the help of a laser scanner, that is mounted to the robot or AGV. Autonome systems can use reflectors, but do not need them anymore and hence can navigate automatically in their surroundings.

Palletising / Depalletising

The possible combination of free navigation and object detection can solve the tasks to load and deload the pallets in the field of robotics with the help of laser scanners.
